Electrifying the Skies Over Akron
Dive into the comprehensive Electrical Infrastructure Master Plan crafted for the Akron Canton Regional Airport (CAK) as part of the Ohio Vertiport Innovation Challenge sponsored by DriveOhio in collaraboration with BTS, a world-leading strategy implementation
firm.
I led the team to develop strategy, conduct research on how to help transition the airport and its 1 Billion economic impact, formulated broad calculations to understand energy usage across 80 acres of potential real estate, coordinated with electricity providers and additional stakeholders in the communal ecosystem to drive potential collaborations to fund the project, and built a $250 Million Master Plan to capitalize on the airport's eVTOL and eV potential.
The team won the award for going “Above and Beyond” in terms of the research, effort, preparation and execution of the challenge. "We thought the level of detail & information in the appendixes was the best of the groups", said Bhavik Modi, Senior Director of Innovation and Digital Platforms for bts. I put the presentation together and designed the maps using Photoshop, Figma, Keynote, and other design platforms to produce a cohesive, brilliant, and aesthetically pleasing presentation.
The Future is for Riders, Not Drivers
Within the bounds of my NDA, my primary objective was to lead in formulating a scalable framework that boosted operational efficiency across 4 service locations (Las Vegas, San Francisco, Foster City, Stanford), with plans for future expansion.
My focus was especially directed towards enhancing the efficiency of the fleet. My role also extended into the realm of data analytics, where I structured solutions to
intricate challenges, delving deep into data-driven analytics, and producing key insights. Technically, I made a significant contribution by merging a substantial codebase into production while driving alignment across over 30 stakeholders, ensuring effective execution of Zoox's strategic initiatives.
While I can't share my project, please, check out the incredible work being done at Zoox.
Communication as the bedrock of Safety
The future of flight is right around the corner - and so is the infrastructure to support it. Right?
Not neccesarily.
I saw some issues in the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) industry that I believe needed solutions, so I created Aampersand. As the Founder and CEO of Aampersand, my team and I are building the logistical highway of the sky.
Uber, for Flying Taxis
FlyBy aims to provide a truly green end-to-end mobility option for transportation of people and cargo between more communities than ever before. The product is going through a phase of reiteration to develop an ideal business model and hone in on the value proposition based off the potential market size of the burgeoning industry for eVTOL (Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing) Aircraft.

DashBot is a product designed to help people and enterprises monitor and reroute delivery robots. In this process, I iterated the product through stages of product identification, development, design, and launch. Some key things touched upon include crafting a product pitch to present to a key stakeholder, creating a design sprint (where the product iterates through the understand, define, sketch, decide, prototype - using storyboards, and running user studies phase.
In addition, the product development phase comprised Sprint Meeting Planning, Decoding API documentation from external partners, Sprint Re-prioritization, and handling difficult situations. For product launch, I researched product and market information, calculated Total Addressable Market (TAM), updated the PRD, developed a marketing and pricing strategy (including crafting acquisition channels), and created tools like training and customer guides to help people on both ends of the spectrum navigate the product.
After sending out the product launch email, I reiterated the product using post-launch data extracted from Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Explore the preliminary wireframe created using Figma and let me know if you have questions.
Your Next Travel Buddy
Air Guide is a next-generation airport essential that helps address transporting bags through the airport, right from arrival. This is an effective tool in providing passengers with the option of arriving at the airport and proceeding into the airport for security checks only, then takeoff. With digital interaction and mobility in cohesion, Air Guide is ‘Check-In’ reimagined and en-route to virus proof airports.
To The Rescue
As a member of the KSU College of Aeronautics and Engineering Aircraft Design team. Semilore's role in this project includes Cost Analysis, outlining deliverables by making systems engineering requirements, using the Adobe Suite to design a team insignia, researching Auxiliary Power Structures, curating trade studies, and collaborating with the team on other pivotal decisions as applicable to the project. The $500 Million Aircraft was an amalgamation of efficiency and inter-operability.

A Line Follower Robot is an automated guided vehicle, which follow a visual line embedded on the floor. This project involves coding using an Arduino Nano, understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers, utilizing a Gantt chart, compiling & acquiring a Bill Of Materials (B.O.M.), calculating the essential metrics, creating a circuit diagram, and most importantly building - in 3D - the full robot using Autodesk Inventor.
Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, Forever
This research set out to understand aging & study trends in apathy in the aerospace and aviation industry. For many people, apathy in aviation comes not from a lack of interest, but a lack of accessibility and means. This research is essential to provide an outlook for the intrinsic challenges aviation may face in the coming years regarding aging & apathy, and steps the world is taking to address declining popular participation. In conclusion, the research offers solutions and discusses the face aviation may have in the public. Is the future of aviation the workforce or is it completely automated?
The MACK Colony is a spacecraft that can achieve deep space exploration while carrying multiple inhabitable pods (a.k.a Jupiters) on board. These Jupiters act as on-board sustenance and planet-side habitation structures. I worked on the project by coordinating with members on the team of 4, and researching our concept: a spacecraft carrier (a.k.a. Resolute) - as featured in the Netflix Series ‘Lost in Space’. In our approach, my team and I created a Mission Thesis, Functional Block Diagram (FBD), Requirements List, Specifications Table, Work Breakdown Structure, Work Packages, Gantt Chart, and Cost Analysis of the concept. The purpose of the MACK Colony is to exhibit and challenge our skills regarding monitoring requirements, traceability, product development, and project management.
